After that healthy brush of melted butter, sprinkle some finely chopped fresh herbs over the butter rolls. Use whatever you have on hand. Herbs like rosemary, thyme, sage, and oregano are all great contenders.

    Steps

    1
    Done

Mix all dry ingredients whilst melting your butter and warming up your milk.

    2
    Done

Add the butter to the milk then the dry yeast and mix. Be sure not to add the yeast to hot milk as it will kill the yeast but less than warm will not activate the yeast.

    3
    Done

Add the milk to your flour and when the dough is coming together then start kneading. Kneading will take 15 to 20 minutes, arm workout for you finally. If you are working with a kid, you can give them a small piece to knead. This is how I manage Emmanuel since he doesn't understand why I get to play with the dough when he isn't.

    4
    Done

Place the dough in a bowl, cling wrap it and rest the dough until it doubles in size.

    5
    Done

Once your dough has risen, you can cut into 10 equally pieces but cover them as you work on one in order to prevent the dough from drying.

    6
    Done

Take one ball roll it out (6 to 7 inches). Using a knife slice through as illustrated in the picture. Don't worry about perfecting your rolling on the first try, I only nailed it the 3 time around.

    7
    Done

Roll the dough down from the top going down. Pick it up and bend the roll like you want the ends to meet or ¾ moon shape. Place ready rolls in a tray. Rest your rolls for 15 minutes. Do not place too many rolls in the tray, I did the first time and my rolls flopped not only because of too little space to rise but also because my dough wasn't tacky or wet enough the first time I made the rolls. My second attempt was better than my first and now I just place 3 or 5 at a time to allow my rolls to rise beautifully.

    8
    Done

Bake for 25 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. When your rolls are done, brush melted butter over the rolls. You will not put these down, once your take a bite.
